Commercial Hive This hive is a simple square design, the brood is 16” x 10” and the supers 16” x 6”.
It has a large brood box holding eleven frames, but they are deeper and wider than the national.
The external size of this hive is exactly the same as the national, which allows you to interchange the floors, supers, queen excluders and the roof.
The complete hive comprises: a wood floor, a brood body, a slotted steel queen excluder, a crown/clearing board, a 4" roof and two supers each with eleven self spacing frames and foundation.

All these hives are made from FSC sustainable Cedar, if you wish to use preservatives use an insecticide free wood preserver, you can also use Linseed Oil.
FSC Cedar, does not require treatment, you can leave it as it is although it will grey if you do not use a preservative. Cedar is ideal for the British climate as it is light, tough, aromatic and aesthetic.
