This is most probably the worlds most popular hive. It has a large brood box, which makes it the most popular for commercial beekeepers. It is also simple in design and ease of handling and perfect for commercial uncapping and extraction equipment.
The complete hive comprises: a wood floor, a brood body, a wire queen excluder, a crown board and a 4" roof. It also comes with ten self-spacing frames and foundation for the brood, and two supers each also with ten self-spacing frames and foundation.
All these hives are made from FSC sustainable Cedar, if you wish to use preservatives use an insecticide free wood preserver, you can also use Linseed Oil.
FSC Cedar, does not require treatment, you can leave it as it is although it will grey if you do not use a preservative. Cedar is ideal for the British climate as it is light, tough, aromatic and aesthetic.
