Back to Health Benefits of Honey...
Honey is not for Babies or Children
Please be careful:
It is advised not to give honey to infants under one year of
age.
Infant botulism is a rare but serious paralytic disease caused by a
micro-organism.
Spores can germinate, grow and produce toxins in the lower bowel
of some infants and honey is a potential source of these spores.
Infants are
susceptible until their intestinal bacteria develop. Adults and older children
are able to ingest the spores without harm.
