Treatments for Mouth Infections
To clear up that sore mouth:
Despite the fear of rotting teeth, honey has active antibiotic
properties and disinfects the mouth.
Honey has been shown in several scientific studies to be an effective treatment for mouth infections.
It appears to protect the lining of the mouth and throat from damage caused by bacteria and even from radiation.
As honey limits the growth of bacteria in the mouth that ordinarily exacerbates mouth sores, it is very useful to either let a teaspoon of
honey run around in your mouth (although be careful for your teeth's sake!) or to gargle a honey, salt and hot water mixture regularly.
