Pumpkin Face Mask
Pumpkins are full of betacarotene and vitamin A, making them especially nourishing for your skin. This sounds an ideal recipe to try at Halloween time. You might not even need a mask!
You will need:
-
1 miniature pumpkin, or portion of a larger one
-
4 pineapple chunks
-
1 tablespoon finely powdered oats
-
1 tablespoon finely powdered almonds
-
1 teaspoon milk
-
1 teaspoon honey
-
1 teaspoon olive oil
-
2 drops rose geranium essential oil
Method:
Use a sharp knife to core the pumpkin and slice on a cutting board. Cut about 6 to 8 pieces. Place pumpkin pieces (including seeds) in a microwave-safe dish with about ¼ cup of water. Microwave for about 2 minutes until the flesh is soft.
Allow to cool. Cut the peel off. Place the pumpkin flesh, seeds and strings into a small food processor with the pineapple and blend until smooth. Add oats, almonds, milk and honey in order, processing after each addition. Add the oil, essential oil and stir. The texture should be rich and smooth, with just a slight graininess from the almonds.
To use, apply to cleaned and toned face and neck skin. Rest for 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and follow with moisturiser.
